News: IO "satisfied" with Kane & Lynch 2

Genre preconceptions caused divide.

IO Interactive has claimed to be “satisfied” with the reaction to Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days.

Eurogamer awarded a below average 4/10, but others have gone higher.

“I would say we are satisfied with Kane & Lynch 2, which in its final form ended up being as we had imagined it,” studio spokesperson Tom Stratton told Eurogamer Denmark this afternoon.

News: XBLA "Game Feast" this October

Super Meat Boy leads the platter.

Microsoft will hold a new Game Feast promotion for Xbox Live Arcade this October.

Developer Team Meat spilled the beans while announcing a 20th October release date for XBLA game Super Meat Boy.

“Super Meat Boy will release on XBLA as the ‘main course’ of The Game Feast, a new promotion MS is doing this October (because ‘fall of arcade’ just sounds wrong),” the developer wrote on its blog.

News: UK Charts: Mafia II takes top spot

All the obvious jokes already don.

Mafia II has taken over from Kane & Lynch 2 at the top of the UK Charts.

According to chart compiler GfK Chart-Track, it’s the biggest UK game launch since Red Dead Redemption, which must be music to the ears of 2K – especially since RDR was one of mother-publisher Take-Two’s, albeit as part of the Rockstar label.

The Xbox 360 version did 52 per cent of the business in Mafia II’s first week, while PS3 was responsible for 41 per cent of sales and PC just seven per cent.

Lanseal Academy is a Disneyland boot camp.
