News: EA dates MMA fighting game

Hopes UFC the difference.

EA Sports’ MMA will be released on 19th October, according to a video shown at a press event this evening.

That’s a Tuesday, so an American date. European plans will be forthcoming.

MMA is in development for PS3 and Xbox 360. Eurogamer got a good look at the game back in November.

News: Shank dated for PSN and XBLA

Klei’s platform romp costs $15.

EA has announced that Shank will be released on 24th August on PlayStation Network and 25th August on Xbox Live Arcade.

The game will cost 1200 Microsoft Points on XBLA or $14.99 on PSN.

Shank is made by developer Klei and caught Eurogamer’s eye back at GDC.

News: EA announces Alice: Madness Returns

American McGee’s disturbing take on the tale.

EA has confirmed the title of American McGee’s new game as Alice: Madness Returns.

It’s in development for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 and will be released next year.

Alice: Madness Returns picks up 10 years after McGee’s first Alice game. We pick-up our heroine after a decade confined to an asylum for the insane. She’s off to find out what happened to her toasted family and work out why she’s a bit bonkers.

News: The Sims 3 gets late night expansion

Hot-tubs, but no time machines.

The PC and Mac versions of The Sims are getting a special Late Night expansion, EA has announced at its Redwood showcase.

The pack lets players hit the town after sundown, mix with celebrities at parties, go boozing in bars, splash around in hot-tubs and even tour with their bands.

Enjoy yourself too much, though, and your night might end early – bouncers will refuse entry to anyone who doesn’t keep their attitude in check. Of course, they could also become a vampire, keeping track of their vampiric family history and passing on their affliction to other players. … Continue Reading

News: EA reveals Maxis’ Darkspore for PC

Sci-fi action RPG with “limitless” customisation.

EA has revealed Maxis’ new PC game Darkspore. It’s an online action role-playing game due in February 2011.

The setting is science fiction, and there will be “fast-paced” combat as players trek the galaxy fighting the Darkspore, which sound like really nasty spots.

The single-player campaign supports four-player co-op, and there’s multiplayer to ruin friendships with.
