OnLive latency has finally been measured, and the results are pleasantly surprising. In Digital Foundry’s independent tests, we achieved an optimum response of 150ms – similar to playing Killzone 2 locally, and in line with Rare’s claims for lag when using the new Kinect camera controller.

News: Disney converting Split/Second to PSP

Will this SKU sales upwards?

How does Disney plan to reinvigorate Split/Second: Velocity sales? By porting the game to PSP and PSPgo of course.

Due autumn, the conversions promise “unique” controls to fit “Sony’s premier handheld game platform”. Plus, there’s to be one new track, some extra challenges and local multiplayer for up to four (humans).

The press release doesn’t mention a developer.

News: BioWare takes WAR servers from GOA

European service temporarily suspended.

As of today, the newly named BioWare Mythic will assume full control of Warhammer Online in Europe.

The MMO has been operated here by GOA since launch in September 2008.

Accounts and game worlds are to migrate to BioWare Mythic servers. These are hosted in Germany and are to be available in German, French and English languages.

Hands On: Brink

In close proximity.

Brink may not be out until spring 2011, but it’s already so well defined that half the world’s games journalists could probably rebuild it from memory. News: Driver: San Francisco dated for the UK

Shift yourself to the shops in November.

Driver: San Francisco will be released in the UK on 26th November for PC, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360.

Retailer GAME confirmed the date to Eurogamer as having come direct from Ubisoft. GAME is one of the two official pre-order partners for Driver: San Francisco.

Those pre-orders are open now and for £60 offer a yellow toy car, map and some in-game goodies.

News: You spend $1.2bn annually on Xbox Live

MS comments reveal service earnings.

Xbox chief operating officer Dennis Durkin has revealed that more than half of Xbox Live’s revenue comes from downloadable content, GamesIndustry.biz reports.

Microsoft has previously said that around half the 25 million people on Xbox Live are Gold subscribers, which amounts to around $600m in fees a year.

Therefore, if downloadable content – avatar clothing, game content, films, Live Arcade games, etc. – exceeds that figure then total revenue for Xbox Live must be $1.2bn or higher.

News: R.U.S.E. PS Move support confirmed

But no Kinect for 360 version.

The PlayStation 3 version of real-time strategy game R.U.S.E. will support PlayStation Move, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The publisher showed off Move with the PS3 version of the multi-platform WWII RTS today at a hands-on event in London.

Using the Move device as a pointer, players can select units, build structures and pan the camera.
